Flooring Company – Taking Sustainability To New Levels At Plan Expo
Specialist flooring company Flowcrete will be showcasing its unique Floorzone concept at Plan Expo– Ireland’s showcase event for the built environment.
Floorzone incorporates the screed, soundproofing, heating and decorative seamless resin finish – all designed and supplied by Flowcrete and installed by a Flowcrete approved contractor.
Flowcrete Floorzone offers economic benefits with reduced labour costs on site and faster installation times aiding the overall construction programme. This, together with a considerable reduction in delivery journeys, provides a more environmentally sustainable approach.
Alan Dean, sales director of Flowcrete, which has an approved contractor network operating across Ireland, said: “Our Floorzone system means that specifiers can achieve a high acoustic performance, time proven screed and energy saving underfloor heating – along with a decorative floor finish from Flowcrete’s extensive range – with just one contractor responsible for the entire procedure.
“It offers sustainable benefits, with all products arriving on site from one source, and the number of contractor visits to site reduced as well.”
Floorzone includes Isocrete screeds, combined with Isocrete Acoustic K and Isowarm underfloor heating, as well as Flowcrete’s range of seamless floor finishes.
Plan Expo 2009 takes place on 3 – 5 November at RDS Simmonscourt in Dublin.
Other sustainable products from Flowcrete being showcased at the event include Mondéco, an exceptionally hard-wearing seamless terrazzo that – once installed – can remain in place for decades, with very little maintenance required.
These long-lasting qualities mean it can stay in-situ when other shorter life-cycle floors have to be re-installed due to wear and tear, avoiding detriment to the environment in three key areas; the uplift, removal and disposal of the worn-out floor finish, the manufacturing procedure of new flooring and even more preparation to repeat the installation.
Mondéco also requires cleaning procedures with little concern to the environment, particularly as it is smooth, flat, seamless and sealed – and, after many years’ service, once it has finished its job, can be removed as non-hazardous waste or even floored over.
Flowcrete’s stand at Plan Expo is Stand F1.
